With a high daily processing volume and constant operational demands, the Austrian Post faced challenges with outdated pneumatic systems causing brake failures, excessive noise, and high power consumption. Maintenance costs were escalating, and the environmental impact was significant.
Interroll provided a cutting-edge solution with its MSC 50 speed controllers. These controllers, replacing the pneumatic systems, offered reliable braking along sorting slides and sloping tracks. The MSC 50 operates without gears, ensuring safe start-up even for light containers and controlled braking for heavy ones, eliminating power consumption and noise issues.
“We have a daily processing volume of approximately 3.5 million letters, which amounts to around half of all items handled by the Austrian Post. I consider it particularly important for us to focus on conveyor technology.”
Christoph Hadek
Head of Mail Sorting Center Vienna, Austrian Post
