Pallet logistics play a huge role as users move to replace manual handling of incoming and outgoing goods with streamlined, automated processes. With Interroll’s Modular Pallet Conveyor Platform (MPP) and its Pallet Flow offering, system integrators and machine builders can provide tailored solutions to meet this growing demand. The offering includes standard and customized solutions as well as entire high-performance systems that integrate compact dynamic storage solutions.
The MPP is used to power the transportation of pallets on conveyors. Perfectly matched conveyor modules are delivered fully preassembled to minimize installation time. An additional benefit of the modular design is that the system can be easily and cost-efficiently adapted to changed requirements. The drive system is provided by gear or compact drum motors, depending on the usage scenario and customer requirements. Even conveyor lines for pallets with zero pressure accumulation can be implemented.
“Our new lightweight constructed stacker cranes, the transfer cars and the lifts are suitable for increasing the throughput and capacity of existing flow storage systems in modernization projects or in new locations; it is also possible to use flow storage not just as a buffer solution but as a dynamic warehouse,” says Uwe Schildheuer, Manager Business Development for the pallet market at Interroll. “Lifts supplied at various levels that use transfer cars, for instance, can significantly reduce the amount of space needed for automated dispatch management.”
Of particular interest to system integrators: Interroll’s modular platforms can be assembled quickly, easily and conveniently using a CAD-based layouter application. Not only can the MPP and the dynamic storage solution modules be combined, but the modules of the DC drive platform can also be integrated into pallet solutions, if required. “After all, the main attraction of our comprehensive platform strategy is that our customers can choose flexibly from our range,” says Global Product Manager Dörr. “Of course, those who require a solution for lower pallet weights can use 50-watt versions of the RollerDrive EC5000 as a drive.”
“For us, the topic of pallet handling is a holistic automation task involving the entire material handling between incoming and outgoing goods,” says Marcus Dörr, Global Product Manager for the Modular Pallet Conveyor Platform at Interroll. “That’s why our range also includes powerful racking interfaces, transfer cars and lifts that enable seamless connection to the Interroll Pallet Flow offering – our tried-and-tested flow storage solution.”
The seamless combination of the MPP and flow storage technology platforms is an ideal foundation for particularly compact, high-performance systems in which the interface technology between the powered and gravity-based systems is optimally resolved. The autonomously operating stacker cranes, transfer cars and lifts, which can each manage an hourly throughput of up to 100 pallets, can be used for fully automated storage and transfer out of the pallet flow storage system.
