The challenge

Arvato, one of the world‘s leading contract logistics providers, aimed to boost throughput and shipping accuracy for both enterprise and private clients. The company was seeking full automation in its logistic center.
The goal was a throughput of 3,600 pieces conveyed per hour.

 

The solution

Arvato, in collaboration with Interroll partners EQ Solutions and AuthenTEK, chose a smart solution that fully leverages Interroll technologies, including Modular Conveyor Platform (MCP), MultiControl, RollerDrive, and Crossbelt Sorters. Prioritizing simplicity, the solution integrates high tech and robotics as needed. It incorporates approximately 2.2 kilometers (1.4 miles) of high-performance conveying technology, two Crossbelt Sorters, intelligent control and seamless integration of labeling robots. The implementation of distributed intelligence to control the material flow effectively manages system complexity and minimizes latency.
