RollerDrive

Experience Integrated Efficiency

The RollerDrive from Interroll is a conveyor roller with an integrated drive, ideal for roller conveyors, conveyor zones, and belt conveyors. Designed for maximum throughput, it handles items like cartons, boxes, tires, white goods, and medium-weight pallets.

By eliminating the need for side-mounted or underhung drives, it enables more compact conveyors and saves one roller per system. Available in 24 or 48 VDC, it pairs seamlessly with Interroll's other conveyor components for efficient zero-pressure accumulation. Reliability, simplicity, and durability make the RollerDrive a proven solution in millions of installations.

Q&A

Interroll RollerDrive is widely used by system integrators globally and is known for modularity, various control options and compatibility with Interroll conveyor platforms.

Conveyors driven by RollerDrive typically offer significantly lower noise levels than central drive systems. The drive cartridge is decoupled internally by rubber components, which results in a very low noise level.

Due to its higher energy efficiency, RollerDrive is recommended for use in any zero pressure accumulation conveyor. In continuous roller conveyors, RollerDrive is particularly advantageous due to its significantly more compact design.

Interroll RollerDrive is available in low‑voltage versions such as 24 V and 48 V to support flexible, safe and energy‑efficient conveyor designs

Low-voltage motor rollers improve operational safety, simplify installation and support energy-efficient conveyor architectures.

The RollerDrive from Interroll offers high efficiency resulting in low energy costs. Motor rollers are particularly energy-efficient when used in zero pressure accumulation conveyors. On the conveyor line, which is divided into zones, goods are only moved when necessary. This means that the motor rollers only rotate when needed. Compared to central drives, this saves up to 50% energy.

In most cases, many motor rollers are used in a single system, so it makes sense to control them using decentralized controllers—and not just to keep cable lengths short. Interroll offers various control concepts, ranging from highly flexible controllers that communicate via fieldbuses to compact control units that can be controlled digitally and allow manual switch settings.

RollerDrive offers the best match for conveyor load weight and conveyor speed. It enables cost-effective transport of empty containers, conveying of goods at up to 2 m/s, and transport of pallets weighing up to 1,000 kg.

In the field of zero pressure accumulation conveyors, RollerDrive offers significant energy savings and, compared to pneumatic systems, almost always has noise advantages. Compared to line shaft conveyors, a much simpler and more compact conveyor design is possible. The savings in rollers and maintenance, e.g., when replacing transmission media, can be achieved much more quickly.

As a rule, the RollerDrive is significantly more durable. Many details have been carefully designed, such as the extremely robust connector plug, which cannot be inserted upside down. Its high efficiency makes it a motor roller with very low energy costs. Unlike the RollerDrive, many motor rollers do not feature a safety temperature cut-off or current limitation. The RollerDrive has been extensively tested and proven millions of times over.

Durability, many sophisticated details and functions, high efficiency, low maintenance, highly flexible control. The RollerDrive has been extensively tested and proven millions of times over.

Interroll offers replacement RollerDrive units and accessories that can be used in maintenance or modernization projects for existing conveyors.

Lower energy use, fewer mechanical components, same infrastructure (controls, power supplies, wiring and acessories for different conveyors (tote handling, small belt conveyors and pallet handling) and reduced downtime.
