II. General information on data processing

1. Personal data
Personal data is any data that relates to you personally, such as your name, postal address, or email address, as well as the IP address assigned to you and connection data.

2. Scope of personal data processing

We only process our users' personal data to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our content and services. The processing of our users' personal data is carried out regularly only with the user's consent. An exception applies in cases where prior consent cannot be obtained for practical reasons and the processing of the data is permitted by law.

3. Legal basis for the processing of personal data

Personal data is processed exclusively within the framework of the applicable data protection regulations. The law of the country in which the processing takes place or to which the data subject is subject is decisive in this regard. Depending on the legal and factual context, processing is based in particular on conditions under which the data subject has given their consent, processing is necessary for the establishment or fulfillment of a contractual or quasi-contractual obligation, there is a legal obligation, or a legitimate interest of the controller or a third party is pursued which is not overridden by the data subject's interests.

Insofar as personal data is transferred to or processed in third countries, this shall only be done in compliance with an adequate level of protection, which is ensured by contractual, legal, or other appropriate safeguards.

4. Deletion of data and retention period

Users' personal data will be deleted when it is no longer required for the purposes for which it was processed. However, the data may also be stored if this is required by legal provisions, laws, or other regulations to which Interroll, as the controller, is subject. After expiry of a storage period prescribed by the aforementioned standards, the data will be blocked or deleted, unless further storage is necessary for the conclusion or fulfillment of a contract.

III. Provision of the website and creation of log files

1. Scope of data processing

When you visit the website, certain information is transmitted to the Interroll servers for technical reasons, such as your IP address and/or HTTP proxy, the document and browser version of the website from which you are visiting us (e.g., via a link), your language preference, and similar information.

2. Purpose of data processing and legal basis

For the purpose of the technical provision of this website, the IP address of the accessing device is temporarily stored by the system. This is necessary to enable error-free delivery of the content to the respective end device. In addition, the access data is logged in server log files to ensure the stability and security of the information technology systems and to be able to analyze any malfunctions.

This processing is based on an overriding legitimate interest in ensuring technical operability, averting danger, and maintaining the integrity of the IT infrastructure. Where required by law, appropriate protective measures are taken to safeguard the rights and freedoms of the persons concerned.

3. Storage period

Data collected for the purpose of providing the website is deleted after the end of the respective session. The data stored in log files is deleted after 4 weeks at the latest.

4. Right to object and deletion options

The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of data in log files is essential for the operation of the website. The user therefore has no option to object to this.

IV. Use of cookies

Due to the large number of cookies, these are explained in the Cookie Policy created specifically for this purpose. You can find this here.

VII. Contact form, contact by email

1. Description and scope of data processing:

On our website, you will find various contact forms (general contact form, configuration and quotation contact form, document downloads, events and trade fairs) that you can use to contact us electronically or to register if you wish to download information such as white papers, CAD drawings, or layout configurations that we provide for download on our website, use our product configurator, or receive a ticket to one of our trade fairs. If you choose one of these options, the data entered in the respective input mask will be transmitted to us depending on the form you have selected and stored in various databases. Interroll uses various data processors for data management.

2. We have the following types of forms:

General contact form: The user asks us for more information about our product or services. • IP city
  • IP country
  • IP country code
  • IP state/region
  • IP code for state/region
  • IP time zone

You can also contact us by email. If you do so, we will store this email.

4. Purpose of data processing and legal basis

Personal data that you submit via the contact form will be used exclusively for processing your inquiry. Your message will be forwarded to the responsible business unit within the group of companies—depending on the content of your inquiry, this may also include forwarding to an affiliated company in another country or to an authorized sales partner, especially if certain regions or business areas are not directly covered by us.

Your information will be processed on the basis of your voluntary submission and your declared interest in being contacted. If your message serves to initiate a contractual relationship, processing is also necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. If required by law in individual cases, we will obtain the appropriate consent before forwarding data across borders or ensure that an adequate level of data protection is maintained by means of appropriate safeguards.

In addition, technical access data is processed when using the contact form in order to prevent misuse and to ensure the security of our IT systems. This processing is based on a legitimate interest in maintaining the operational security of our web services.

5. Storage period

The data will be deleted when it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected. Personal data entered in the contact form input form and data sent by email will be deleted after the respective conversation with the user has ended. A conversation is considered to be ended when it can be inferred from the circumstances that the matter has been conclusively clarified.

All other personal data collected in the course of the transmission will be deleted after 7 days at the latest.

6. Right to object, withdrawal of consent

If the user contacts us via a contact form or by email, they have the right to object to the processing of their personal data at any time. The conversation cannot then be continued. If the user has consented to the processing, this consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.

The collection of data via Google reCaptcha as part of the registration process serves to prevent misuse of the services or the email address provided. Our legitimate interest serves as the legal basis.

If the user has given separate consent to receive information, this consent serves as the legal basis.

3. Storage period

4. Termination, revocation of consent, and objection

The subscription to the newsletter, industry information, and magazines can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.

We will not sell, exchange, or share your data with third parties unless you have given your consent (to share your data within Interroll).

We use external service providers as processors for the administration of our websites and other activities. Our website is hosted by Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. All our processors are contractually obliged to comply with the applicable legal provisions on data protection and data security.

X. Your rights

Within the framework of the applicable data protection laws, data subjects have the following rights in particular:

  • request information about the data stored about them,
  • to have incorrect or incomplete information corrected,
  • to request the deletion or restriction of the processing of their personal data,
  • and to request the transfer of this data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
  • to complain to the competent authority about the processing if they believe that the processing of their personal data violates applicable data protection regulations.

In addition, you have the right to object to the processing of personal data at any time for reasons arising from the particular situation of the data subject, insofar as this is based on a legitimate interest. In the event of an objection, the data concerned will not be processed further unless there are compelling legitimate grounds for the processing or it serves to assert, exercise, or defend legal claims. If personal data is processed for direct marketing purposes, this processing may also be objected to at any time. In this case, further processing for these purposes will not take place.

Consent given to the processing of personal data may be revoked at any time with effect for the future. Processing carried out up to the time of revocation remains unaffected by this.

To exercise the above rights, you can contact the contact persons named in section "I. Name and address of the controller" at any time. An objection or revocation can be made informally.
