Interroll to take center stage at the Tire Technology Expo 2017
Sant’Antonino, Switzerland, 14th February 2017. Interroll is affirming its keen commitment to the global tire manufacturing industry by operating a large stand at the sector’s most important trade fair. Interroll conveying technology provides the basis for automated production and distribution systems in this market – a market which is growing and constantly changing.
Interroll will be showcasing its very own technologies and solutions for tire production and distribution at the Tire Technology Expo in Hanover (14-16th February 2017), where you will find them at stand 2007 in hall 01.
The tire production industry is gearing itself up to make great use of automation for increased efficiency, productivity, flexibility and convenience. Automation means innovation, and Interroll’s technologies are the very automation and innovation that the tire production industry has been waiting for.
System integrators and major tire manufacturers trust Interroll precisely because they know they can rely on us for consistently high-quality production. On complex projects, it is true to say that high-quality components make for a high-quality assembly. Interroll collaborates with the most well-known system integrators, offering them a very high-quality product, all the technological support they require to build a tire production plant which calls for automated handling equipment without compromise, and a global presence that enables everyone involved to engage in close dialogue on an ongoing basis. Moreover, many tire manufacturers in Europe, and worldwide, are building a strong partnership with Interroll with the shared objective of achieving high-quality production that is also sustainable and convenient.
Interroll’s motorized rollers are the product of its outstanding research and development which, applied worldwide, means that this product – which is key to optimizing the production and distribution process – benefits from constant improvement. The Interroll RollerDrive is a 24 VDC brushless motor drive for a wide range of applications in conveyor technology. The basic idea behind the RollerDrive is the de-centralization and modularization of zero-pressure accumulation conveyors.
As for Interroll's roller conveyors, the ability to speed up, slow down and accumulate products of various shapes and sizes transforms this equipment into a “rolling warehouse”. Being able to rely on a flow of materials which is constant, effective, eco-friendly, energy-efficient and very low-maintenance cuts operating costs significantly – a great benefit for the tire production industry, faced with the challenges posed by modernization and optimization.
“The tire market is changing both in terms of quality and in terms of quantity,” says Maurizio Catino, Industry Global Sales Manager Automotive & Tire, who is responsible for the cluster that Interroll structured just over two years ago. He has very clear ideas about how tires are going to evolve as a product: “In its new report Global Tire Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2021, Research and Markets highlights that the global tire market is forecast to grow at an annual rate of 8.4% between 2016 and 2021 on account of the price of crude oil stabilising, an expected increase in vehicle sales and anticipated expansion of vehicle fleets, especially in the Asia-Pacific region. Although they will need to be monitored over time, these figures outline a vision of an expanding market – indeed this market generated over 160 billion dollars in 2015.”
The top ten highest-selling companies in the list compiled by specialist magazine Tire Business account for 63% of the market. They are revolutionising the current business model not only in terms of distributing the finished product but also, to a certain extent, in terms of production.
In recent years, driven partly by whirlwind development in the Asian automotive market, the range of products offered by the tire sector has become far more varied, as have the way these products are offered. Between the end of 2016 and the start of 2017, some of the most well-known tire brands began selling their products online in the USA. The threat of new competition is prompting the major international manufacturers to revise their (mostly proprietary) distribution phases in order to tailor these to demand and optimize costs at the same time. The tire industry is therefore rethinking its own structure to make a more sustainable contribution to the changing needs of the market.
Optimization necessarily involves the automation of distribution centers; currently operating in this field, Interroll has already amassed significant international experience in this area. Interroll is well placed to support the tire production industry using high-tech solutions that produce quick, demonstrable results. Interroll is a worldwide leading producer of high-quality key products and services for internal logistics; the company produces up to 10 million conveyor rollers per year, and is recognized as a leading global producer of key components for the conveyor industry.
