Interroll: Positive Performance in 2011Ad hoc Communication January 2012 – Net Sales/Order Intake 2011 (unaudited figures)
The Interroll Group saw net sales grow by 7.9% in local currency during the financial year 2011. As a result of unfavourable foreign exchange effects, particularly in connection
with the US dollar and the euro, net sales expressed in Swiss francs contracted to CHF 271.9 million (2010: CHF 283.1 million).
The Group's sales performance within the product groups "Rollers" and "Drives" was encouraging during the financial year as a whole. With the "Conveyors & Sorters" product group operating close to full capacity, the Group was unable to complete all customer orders by the end of 2011. Interroll also managed to expand its revenue generated in the area of "Pallet & Carton Flow", despite challenging market conditions within the warehouse logistics sector. The new global sales organisation successfully introduced by the Group had a favourable impact on business in 2011. The more focused approach to business development within defined market segments, together with Interroll's global presence, proved to be an increasingly important growth driver with regard to capturing additional market share. Order intake in local currency developed encouragingly, expanding by 13.6% year on year. Expressed in Swiss francs, order intake rose to CHF 288.7 million (2010: CHF 285.2 million). All product groups contributed to growth in this area. The Group's annual results for the financial year 2011 are to be presented at the media and analysts' conference in Zurich on 23 March 2012.
