Application 006: Automotive industry Fährenkämper Entwicklungs- und Vertriebsgesellschaft, Germany

Thanks to their all-in-one construction including control electronics, the EC200 Interroll RollerDrives minimize the number of components for the hub and winding table at the Fährenkämper Entwicklungs- und Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH (FEV).

Physics experts
The latest FEV winder uses simple physical forces to ideally position the tyre pairs on the winding table. The table is a combined hub and winding unit: the rotation of the three inwardly sloping rollers alone is sufficient for automatically centering the bottom tyre at the optimal position for winding. Competing systems require a lot more equipment that needs to be driven and controlled in order to perform the same mechanical positioning.

Minimum number of components
The design of the "magic" rollers is just as clever. Unlike conventional rollers the Interroll RollerDrives do not need an external motor. Instead they come with an integrated 24 volt motor. Motor, secondary transmission and passive roller are thereby combined in a single, space saving DC RollerDrive. Having just one component simplifies overall system design and thereby reduces costs.

What our customers say
The integrated electronics are ideal for the 'less is more' design of our winding machine with automatic centering unit, since we can connect the motor directly to our PLC.
